uniFLOW ONLINE

POWERFUL CLOUD PRINT & SCAN MANAGEMENT

One solution to secure your print and scan environment. uniFLOW Online provides cloud print management with various job submission pathways as well as comprehensive cloud scan management functionalities. Companies can track their print, scan and copy costs and export reports. A wide range of Canon MFP’s and SFP’s are supported via embedded applets. Multi-vendor devices can also become part of the secure print environment, thanks to the uniFLOW Release Station.

Printers produce the hardcopy printout. uniFLOW Online ensures device security by requiring users to authenticate at the device before being able to access any of the device’s features. Different authentication methods e.g., company proximity card or PIN code, allow this process to be simple for the user.

Document security is preserved because a user must be physically at a device to gain access and release their print jobs or to use the available scan profiles. Users authenticate using one of the following options.

  • Company proximity card
  • Mobile phone
  • PIN code
  • A combination of PIN code and company proximity card
  • Image + optional PIN code login or
  • Entering their department ID/ PIN code

Registering an ID card with any user account is comfortable with uniFLOW Online. Card numbers can either be imported to uniFLOW Online or the administrator authorizes ID card registration. Users can then walk up to a device connected to uniFLOW Online and swipe their ID card above the card reader. Users will be requested to enter a PIN or a card registration code to finaliSe the card registration.

Canon device functionality can be restricted or accepted based on company requirements and security needs. Device policies are applied on user login so specified functionalities can be restricted, e.g the ability to scan in color, and will continue to apply should network connection be lost and access to devices is via emergency mode. Device access can also be regulated through Function Level Login so users must authenticate for specific functions, such as secure printing, while the device stays unlocked so other users can continue to e.g. copy without authentication.

There are several ways users can be imported to uniFLOW Online. uniFLOW Online can be connected to an existing data directory to import users from Office 365 or an active directory. Other possibilities include manual user creation or import from a CSV or XML file. Users can also self-register to uniFLOW Online; a whitelist of domains is created to allow users to register with their company email address.

uniFLOW Online does not provide its own identity management but, instead, accepts login credentials from multiple identity providers. Credentials from Microsoft Azure Active Directory®, Active Directory® Federation Services, or a locally hosted Active Directory® can be enabled for login. Facebook, Google, Yahoo!®, Windows Live, AuthO, Okta, OneLogin™, or Ping Identity credentials can serve as a channel to log in as well. The primary security benefit of this identity management system is that uniFLOW Online does not store any user passwords. Despite this, provided the customer’s own local Active Directory is connected, any password changes or user additions are automatically updated and recognized in uniFLOW Online.
